Moscow Boat Show introduces ‘Charter Days’

The 2010 Moscow International Boat Show (MIBS), held at Crocus Expo on 15-18 April, will feature ‘Charter Days’ – each day being dedicated to a popular sailing destination.

The provisional schedule is as follows:

15 April – Croatia
16 April – Italy
17 April – France & Corsica
18 April – Caribbean

The ‘Charter Days’ have been organised by the Russian Yachting Centre in association with the All Russian Sailing Federation and the Volvo Ocean Race.  The first day, dedicated to Croatia, is sponsored by Salona, a manufacturer of performance cruisers since 2002.

Chartering is one of the fastest growing sectors in the boat industry, enabling a much wider audience to experience the luxury and prestige associated with boating.  The ‘Charter Days’ at MIBS 2010 will direct boat enthusiasts to the Russian Yachting Centre’s stand, where regular seminars and presentations will be taking place, offering valuable advice and promoting the benefits of chartering.  It will give visitors an opportunity to ask questions and find out about other people’s experiences.  Crucially, they will also be able to talk directly with charter companies and those who provide auxiliary services, such as insurance, all of whom will be present on the stand.

The new initiative will also enable companies, such as Salona, to benefit from increased publicity in Russia, as Event Manager, Mrs. Olga Galkina, explains, “The ‘Charter Days’ will be well advertised during the event, focussing attention on these destinations and the companies that serve them.  As Russia’s best known boat show, MIBS attracts a lot of visitors, both consumer and trade, so it is a prime opportunity to build awareness and generate sales”.
